背景信息 The cell cycle is regulated by the interplay of many molecules. Key among these are the cyclins which are expressed and then degraded in a concerted fashion to drive the stages of the cell cycle. Cyclins combine with cyclin dependent kinases (cdks) to form activated kinases that phosphorylate targets leading to cell cycle regulation. A breakdown in the regulation of this cycle can lead to out of control growth and contribute to tumor formation. Defects in many of the molecules that regulate the cell cycle have been implicated in cancer. As a member of the Cyclin A family, Cyclin A2 associates with both Cdk1 and Cdk2 to form a serine/threonine kinase holoenzyme complex. Cyclin A2 also phosphorylates substrates similar to those of cyclin E-Cdk and regulates the cell cycle at G1/S and the G2/M phase. 产品信息 格式 Purified 控制 - PC-12 cell lysate

Entrez基因汇总 The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Different cyclins exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. In contrast to cyclin A1, which is present only in germ cells, this cyclin is expressed in all tissues tested.
