背景信息	The protein named Embryonal Fyn-associated substrate (hEFS) or Cas scaffolding protein family member 3 and encoded by the human gene EFS or CASS3 is an internal cytoplasmic and membrane associated scaffold/docking protein thought to play a central role in coordinating tyrosine-kinase mediated signaling reactions related to cell adhesion. EFS interacts with SRC, FYN, CRK and YES signaling proteins and far-western analysis demonstrates that EFS operates via its Src homology 3 domains (SH3 domains). Expression of EFS appears critical in many systems and interestingly, methylation of EFS promoter is associated with progressive melanoma.
