    背景信息 Lactadherin/MFGE8 is an interesting membrane protein that appears to be playing an important role in the maintenance of intestinal epithelial homeostasis and the promotion of mucosal healing. Lactadherin/MFGE8 is a potent VEGF dependent vascularization factor as well, and because it is expressed on the outside of membranes, it appears to be contributing to the phagocytic removal of apoptotic cells in many tissues. Lactadherin/MFGE8 is also a specific ligand for the integrin clusters of AvB3 and AvB5 and it binds to phosphatidylserine-enriched cell surface membranes (common on apoptotic cells). Lactadherin/MFGE8 also is the parent molecule for Medin a major component of amyloid intravascular plaques that increases with age and seems to function in cell adhesion in binding smooth muscle to elastic fibers in arteries. Lactadherin/MFGE8 was originally described as a prominent glycoprotein present in human milk and breast carcinomas and noted for its integrin binding adhesive properties and angiogenic potential in tumors.
