背景信息 The protein named the Thyrotropin receptor, or more commonly the Thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSH-R), and encoded by the human gene named TSHR or LGR3 is the cellular receptor for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) (also called Thyrotropin) and thyrostimulin. TSHR is a G protein coupled receptor expressed in thyroid and it plays a central role in controlling thyroid cell metabolism. The thyroid gland has an important role in our daily homeostasis and metabolism. Among its functions, the thyroid gland produces iodine-containing hormones (thyroid hormones), which help regulate growth, brain development, and the rate of chemical reactions in the body (metabolism). Mutations in TSHR give rise to Graves disease, hyperthyroidism, congenital hypothyroidism, and a variety of other conditions. Also somatic mutations in TSHR have been linked to the development of thyroid tumors both benign and cancerous forms. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
