背景信息	The protein named electron transfer flavoprotein subunit beta (Beta-ETF) and encoded by the human gene named ETFB is a key player in mitochondrial fatty acid beta oxidation. ETFB facilitates the electron transfer of electrons from several different dehydrogenases including acyl-CoA dehydrogenases, glutaryl-CoA and sarcosine dehydrogenase to the ETF-ubiquinone oxidoreductase in the mitochondria. ETFB is located in the mitochondrial matrix and is ubiquitously expressed in cells, though the expression levels can vary depending upon the tissue. Addtionally, ETFB forms a complex with ETFA. Defects in ETFB give rise to acyl-CoA dehydrogenation deficiency (MADD) disorders that can take on various clinical manifestations. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ETFB rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on mouse brain extracts and fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HepG2 cells in culture.
