背景信息 LMO-1 (Rhombotin-1) is a DNA binding transcription factor or coactivating transcription factor primarily identified in developing nervous system tissues but also can be found expressed in other tissues of the gut and thymus. LMO-1's gene was originally discovered in a T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia cell line. The gene is now known to be part of a larger family of LIM-domain binding proteins that regulate a variety of cell genes in development and organ function. The LMO, for LIM-domain only, proteins appear to regulate gene transcription by functioning as "linker" or "scaffolding" proteins with a remarkable potential to mediate protein-protein interactions.
