背景信息	Solute carrier family 22 member 12 (SLC22A12) is a member of the Organic cation transporter (TC 2.A.1.19) family regulating blood urate levels by mediating saturable urate uptake by facilitating the exchange of urate against organic anions. SLC22A12 is found in kidney at the protein level. Mutations in SLC22A12 have been associated with hypouricemia renal type 1, a disorder characterized by impaired uric acid reabsorption.
