背景信息	Carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) is also known as Liver carboxylesterase 1, Acyl-coenzyme A: cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT), Cocaine carboxylesterase, Methylumbelliferyl-acetate deacetylase 1, Monocyte/macrophage serine esterase, Retinyl ester hydrolase (REH), Serine esterase 1, and Triacylglycerol hydrolase (TGH). CES1 is involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics and the activation of ester and amide prodrugs. CES1 plays an important role in the hydrolization of the methyl ester group of cocaine to form benzoylecgonine, the transesterification of cocaine to form cocaethylene and the ethyl esterification of oleic acid to ethyloleate, and is activated by CHAPS. CES1 is expressed mostly in liver, and with lower levels found in the heart and lung.
