背景信息	The protein currently named NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 beta subcomplex subunit 7, or alternatively Cell adhesion protein SQM1, Complex I-B18 (CI-B18), or NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase B18 subunit and encoded by the human gene named NDUFB7 is an accessory protein that is part of Complex I in the mitochondria. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. Complex I is made up of some 45 different protein subunits, NDUFB7 is number 7 and is expressed in all cells and localized in the mitochondria, specifically in the intermembrane space. NDUFB7 does not have catalytic activity, but is seen as an accessory protein needed to help hold the complex together and stabilize the complex during electron transfer. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-NDUFB7 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on mouse ovary tissue extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human brain tissue sections.
