背景信息	ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 2-binding protein (ARL2BP) or alternatively ARF-like-2-binding protein, Binder of ARF2 protein 1, or Binder of ARF Two (BART) and encoded by the human gene named ARL2BP or BART/BART1 is a cotranscription factor that works to allow the nuclear translocation, retention and transcriptional activity of STAT3 in JAK/STAT signaling pathways. ARL2BP partners with ARL2 and SLC25A6. SLC25A6 is an ADP/ATP translocase that is expressed in the mitochondria that acts as a gated pore for ADP from the mitochondrial matrix to the cytoplasm. ARL2 is a small GTP-binding protein and part of the RAS family of GTP binding proteins. ARL2BP-ARL2-SLC25A6 complex is expressed in the mitochondria and not found in the Golgi or nucleus. ARL2BP can be localized in the cytoplasm if not complexed and in the nucleus or mitochondria if complexed with various other partner proteins. ARL2BP also partners with other members of the STAT family, including STAT2 and STAT4 as well as ANT1 and Rac1. Expressed by most cells, it appears that ARL2BP acts as not only a regulator in STAT signaling but also as a regulator of microtubule dynamics and folding. In so doing ARL2BP has been shown to be critical for inhibiting cell invasion by regulating the activity of Rac1 in pancreatic cancer cells. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ARL2BP rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human glioma tissue sections.
