背景信息 BBIP10 is a BBSome that is a highly conserved Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) protein. BBS is characterized by a dysfunction in the cilium that affects the development and homeostasis of a number of organ systems. BBIP10 is found in the primary cilium of ciliated organisms and, unlike other BBSome proteins, BBIP10 is necessary for microtubule polymerization and acetylation.
