    背景信息 Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C), also known as MCAK, is a mitotic centromere-associated kinesin, which belongs to the MCAK/KIF2 subfamily. It is expressed in two isoforms: isoform 2 is found exclusively in the testis; whereas isoform one is widely expressed, in varying levels, in the thymus, testis, small intestine, colon, placenta, spleen, and ovary. Kinesin-like protein KIF2C plays an important role in mitosis; It contains a microtubule tip localization signal (MtLS) motif and is involved in microtubule plus-end depolymerization. By modulating the turnover of microtubules at the kinetochore, kinesin-like protein KIF2C facilitates chromosome segregation, which is critical during mitosis. Kinesin-like protein KIF2C is regulated by the Aurora B kinase.
