    背景信息 RNMT (mRNA methyltransferase) functions to methylate the mRNA guanosine cap during mRNA translation. Higher expression of RNMT correlates with increased cellular mRNA cap methyltransferase activity, activates epithelial cell transformation in mammals and increases cell transformation in fibroblasts. RNMT is also used to phosphorylate the RNA polymerase II CTD.

    SUBUNIT STRUCTURE: Interacts with importin alpha, leading to stimulate both RNA-binding and methyltransferase activity. Interaction with importin alpha and beta is required for its nuclear localization, importin beta dissociating in response to RanGTP, allowing RNMT-importin alpha to bind RNA substrates. Interacts with elongating form of polymerase II and RNGTT.
