背景信息	Disks large homolog 1 (DLG1), or synapse-associated protein 97, is a multidomain protein belonging to the MAGUK family. It is highly expressed in the heart, and influences the excitability of cardiac myocytes by regulating the expression of Kv4 channels. In general, DLG1 functions as a scaffolding protein recruiting an array of molecules such as receptors, channels, and signaling proteins to the plasma membrane, and is therefore an important regulator of signal transduction. It has been linked to cell proliferation, lymphocyte activation, synaptogenesis, myelin formation, among other critical cellular processes.
