背景信息 Aquaporin 1 (AQP1) is a 28 kDa integral membrane protein which was originally identified in red blood cells and renal proximal tubules, but is also expressed by the choroid plexus and various other tissues. AQP1 creates a water-specific channel across the plasma membranes of red cells and kidney proximal tubules which allows water to move via an osmotic gradient.
