背景信息	Dynamin-3 or alternatively testicular dynamin, T-dynamin encoded by the human gene DNM3 or KIAA0820 is the microtubule associated motor protein highly expressed in the testis but also found in other tissues such as heart, brain and lung. Dynamins are all GTPase enzymes and largely responsible for endocytosis in mammalian cells as well as helping with the linkage of cell membrane to actin cytoskeleton, and in microtubule bundle associated force generation. In endocytosis, dynamin proteins are involved in the cleaving off of newly formed vesicles from the internal or external membranes from one cellular compartment to another. There are three dynamin primary proteins: Dynamin (Dynamin 1), found in neurons and neuroendocrine cells, Dynamin-2, which is ubiquitously expressed in most cells, and Dynamin-3 (DNM3) which as indicated above, is tissue restricted. Recent research indicates that DNM3 also has a functional role in megakaryopoiesis and platelet size, and DNM3 is one of several genes amplified in sarcomas but the link to its function is under investigation. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-DNM3 rabbit monoclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on fetal brain lysate.
