背景信息 TIP60 protein or also known as Histone acetyltransferase KAT5, 60kDa Tat-interactive protein, Histone acetyltransferase HTATIP, HIV-1 Tat interactive protein, Lysine acetyltransferase 5, or cPLA(2)-interacting protein and encoded by the KAT5/HTATIP/TIP60 gene is a histone acetyl transferase that forms the catalytic subunit of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of a number of genes via the acetylation of histone H4 and H2A. TIP60 plays a role in DNA repair, growth arrest and senescence, apoptosis, chromatin remodeling, and tumor suppression. First discovered as protein that interacted with HIV-1 Tat resulting in TIP60 becoming polyubiquitinated and degraded (which prevented apoptosis of the infected cell), TIP60 is now known to interact with a number of other intracellular proteins including HDAC7A, CREB1, BCL3, Androgen receptor and PLA2G4A. TIP60 is largely localized to the nucleus or nuclear envelope in most tissues. TIP60 is also necessary for oncogene and proto-oncogene mediated growth induction seen in many cancers.
