背景信息 Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is known to stimulate the transcription factor nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB and c-Jun NH(2)-terminal kinase. TRAF6 is essential in the IL-17 signaling pathway of proinflammatory response. Over-expression of IL-17 by T cells seems to be important in systemic sclerosis pathogenesis. IL-17 is particularly involved in early development of the disease by activating fibroblast propagation and creation of IL-1. IL-17 connects lymphoid and myeloid host defenses and so plays an essential part in the microbial defense response.
