    背景信息 Junctional adhesion molecule C (JAM-C) is an adhesion molecule found at endothelial intracellular junctions that plays a role in leukocyte transendothelial migration and other inflammatory events. JAM-C seems to be important in the pathophysiology of pancreatitis and therefore could be a promising clinical target. JAM-C expression has been shown to be increased when T lymphocytes are activated. Research has shown that controlling JAM-C may also be a way of controlling pathological angiogenesis.

The protein encoded by this immunoglobulin superfamily gene member is localized in the tight junctions between high endothelial cells. Unlike other proteins in this family, the this protein is unable to adhere to leukocyte cell lines and only forms weak homotypic interactions.
