背景信息	The protein named Arylamine N-acetyltransferase 1 or alternatively Arylamide acetylase 1, Monomorphic arylamine N-acetyltransferase (MNAT), or N-acetyltransferase type 1 (NAT-1) and encoded by the human gene named NAT1 or AAC1 is a detoxifying enzyme that helps to metabolize drugs and other xenobiotics. NAT1 also functions in folate catabolism. Interestingly, NAT1 is one of two N-acetyltransferase isozymes in humans that also catalyze both N-acetylation (usually deactivation) and O-acetylation (usually activation) of aromatic and heterocyclic amine carcinogens. Epidemiological studies suggest that the NAT1 and NAT2 acetylation polymorphisms modify risk of developing urinary bladder, colorectal, breast, head and neck, lung, and possibly prostate cancers. NAT1 is expressed principally in the liver but can also be found expressed in kidney, lung and trachea, with minor expression seen in most other tissues as well. We offer a rabbit polyclonal Anti-NAT1 Antibody that has been validated in western blot on PC3 cell extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human breast cancer tissue sections and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on HeLa cells in culture.
