背景信息	The protein named T-complex protein 1 subunit delta or TCP-1-delta, or CCT-delta, or Stimulator of TAR RNA-binding and encoded by the human gene named CCT4/CCTD/SRB is a protein that acts as a molecular chaperone for various proteins during folding. CCT4 is part of the TCP1/CCT complex, a large multi-protein complex consisting of two back-to-back rings, each containing 8 unique but homologous subunits that assist in the folding of newly translated polypeptide substrates though multiple rounds of ATP-driven release and rebinding of partially folded intermediate forms. Among CCT4’s chaperone partners are the important cytoskeletal proteins of actin and tubulin. CCT4 is also part of the BSS/CCT complex that is a large complex of chaperone like proteins that assist in ciliogenesis and vesicle transport. CCT4 is localized in the cytoplasm and in complex with cytoskeletal elements and centrosomes during cytokinesis.
