背景信息	The protein named 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase-like protein 1 (ACCS) or ACC synthase-like protein 1 and encoded by the human gene named ACCS or PHACS is a cytosolic enzyme that is the human homologue to 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) synthase, the first enzyme in the two step biosynthetic pathway of the important plant hormone ethylene. The cloning of the putative human ACCS was originally performed in 2001 and research is still examining the potential role of ethylene in non-plants. ACCS is expressed in a wide range of tissues, however, unlike the plant versions human ACCS does not catalyze the synthesis of 1-amino-cyclopropane -1-carboxylate.
