背景信息	Glycine--tRNA ligase (GARS) is a member of the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family which produces diadenosine tetraphosphate (Ap4A), a universal pleiotropic signaling molecule needed for cell regulation pathways, by direct condensation of 2 ATPs. GARS is widely expressed with levels found in the brain and spinal cord. Mutations in GARS have been associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2D and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 5A.
