背景信息 Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal protein 1 (LRRTM1) is a multidomain postsynaptic protein. It contains nine leucine-rich repeats, one LRRCT domain, and 1 LRRNT domain. The Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal proteins bind to presynaptic neurexins and promote cell adhesion. The Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal protein 1 is predominantly expressed in the forebrain and may play a role in differentiation and connectivity processes during the development of this region. The corresponding gene is imprinted in humans, and has been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, such as schizophrenia.
