背景信息	The protein currently named Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase-like 1 (PPlase) or alternatively in older literature Rotamase PPIL1 and encoded by the human gene named PPIL1 or CYPL1 is a cytoplasmic endoplasmic reticulum associated protein present in all tissues but abundant in muscle tissue that assists in the folding of proteins. PPIL1 is part of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. PPIL1 catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of protein imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. PPIL1 also is a specific component of human 35 S U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle and 45 S activated spliceosome. It is recruited by SKIP, another essential component of 45 S activated spliceosome, into spliceosome just before the catalytic step 1 of RNA splicing, and thus PPIL1 is critical for RNA processing as well. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-PPIL1 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been tested in western blot on NIH3T3 cell extracts and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human colon cancer tissue sections.
