背景信息 Alkylated DNA repair protein alkB homolog 5 (ALKBH5) is also called Alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase alkB homolog 5. ALBKH5 is a dioxygenase that demethylates RNA, specifically N(6)-methyladenosine (m6A) of messenger RNA (mRNA) in higher eukaryotes. Demethylation of m6A mRNA affects mRNA processing and export, differentiation and spermatogenesis.
