背景信息 Translocator protein (TSPO) is also called Mitochondrial benzodiazepine receptor, PKBS, or Peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR). TSPO generates peripheral-type benzodiazepine recognition sites. TSPO has a role in cholesterol transport across mitochondrial membranes in steroidogenic cells, and may also be involved in in the transport of porphyrins and heme.
