背景信息 Wnt-4 belongs to the WNT family of signaling molecules that have vital roles in the development of several tissues within invertebrates and vertebrates, serving as binding ligands for frizzled family transmembrane receptors. A secreted glycoprotein, Wnt-4 is a necessary component of nephrogenesis and metacephric mesenchymal condensation. It also has been shown to be involved in unilateral uretal obstruction (UUO). Some studies suggest Wnt-4 to have a potential usefulness in the improvement of bone regeneration and restoration of craniofacial defects. Expression of Wnt-4 is wide and has been observed in kidney, adrenal gland, gonad, mammary gland, Mullerian duct, and pituitary gland. A deficiency of Wnt-4 has been implicated in causing partial female to male sex reversal, known as SERKAL syndrome. Defects in Wnt-4 expression are also causal to Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome (RKH syndrome), which is characterized by anomalies in the genital tract of otherwise normal females. 产品信息 格式 Affinity Purified 控制 - Human testis tissue lysate

shown to influence the sex-determination cascade. It encodes a protein which shows 98% amino acid identity to the Wnt4 protein of mouse and rat. This gene and a nuclear receptor known to antagonize the testis-determining factor play a concerted role in both the control of female development and the prevention of testes formation. This gene and another two family members, WNT2 and WNT7B, may be associated with abnormal proliferation in breast tissue.
