背景信息 Interferon beta is a type I IFN regulatory cytokine belonging to a conserved family of secreted proteins that have demonstrated growth-inhibitory, immunomodulatory and antiviral properties. Due to these properties, the type I IFNs have been of considerable interest and use in various clinical functions. Studies have shown Interferon beta to be a potent immunomodulator and tumor growth suppressor through the down-regulation of MGMT. 应用说明 Neutralizing Activity Assay Analysis: One unit of neutralization activity is defined as the amount of antibody serum required to inactivate one unit of Interferon Beta activity in a viral resistant assay, i.e., VSV virus and MDBK cell line (Rubinstein S. Familletti, P.C. and Pestka S. Journal of Virology, 1981, 37:755-758). Neutralization activity is measured by the inhibition of VSV infection of MDBK cells in the presence and absence of the neutralization antibody (ability of the antibody to block interferon's protection of MDBK from VSV infection). This antibody has a neutralization activity of 6.0 x 10^5 units/mL. (Note: Interferon Beta response is species specific)
