背景信息	Interleukin-17 receptor B (IL-17RB) is a cytokine receptor that specifically binds to IL17B and IL17E, but does not bind to IL17 and IL17C. IL-17 is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. High levels of IL-17 are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. IL-17RB has been shown to mediate the activation of NF-kappaB and the production of IL-8 induced by IL17E (IL-25). Overexpression of IL-17RB is linked to nonrecurrence after tamoxifen chemoprophylaxis in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, thus pointing out a potential involvement of its known ligands, IL-17B and IL-17E respectively.
