背景信息 The protein called Glycoprotein non-metastatic B or also called Transmembrane glycoprotein NMB (GPNMB/NMB), or Transmembrane glycoprotein HGFIN is an interesting protein that is up regulated in many cancer cells including glioblastomas and melanomas but it is also expressed in macrophages, podocytes and in the ciliary body of the eye. Expression is barely detectable in healthy brain but increases in brain cancer and other pathological conditions.
