背景信息	Early growth response protein 1 (EGR-1), also known as AT225 or Nerve growth factor-induced protein A (NGFI-A) or Transcription factor ETR103 or Transcription factor Zif268 or Zinc finger protein 225 or Zinc finger protein Krox-24, and encoded by the gene name EGR1 or KROX24 or ZNF225, belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. The target proteins that EGR1 activates are required for differentiation and mitogenesis. EGR1 is localized to the nucleus. Studies suggest that it is a cancer suppressor protein.
