背景信息 The protein named Cytosolic carboxypeptidase 2, or alternatively ATP/GTP binding protein-like 2, and encoded by the human gene named AGBL2 or CCP2, is cytoplasmic metallocarboxypeptidase involved in tubulin processing. AGBL2 detyrosinates the C-terminal EEY region of alpha tubulin and thus is important in the regulation of microtubule dynamics, which is important for cell motility and division, particularly in cancer cells. Thus because AGBL2 is the enzyme that initiates the activity it is being examined as a possible target for anti-cancer therapy. AGBL2 also interacts with other cancer related proteins such as RARRES1. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
