背景信息 Protein Inhibitor of Activated STAT2 (PIAS2), also known as Msx-interacting zinc finger protein (Miz1), DAB2-interacting protein (DIP), Androgen receptor-interacting protein 3 (ARIP3), E3 SUMO-protein ligase PIAS2, and Protein inhibitor of activated STAT x (PIASX), functions as an E3-type small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligase, stabilizing the interaction between UBE2I and the substrate, and as a SUMO-tethering factor. PIAS2 has been shown to play a critical role as transcriptional coregulator in various cellular pathways, including the p53, STAT and the steroid hormone signaling pathway. PIAS2 binds specifically to STAT4 following IL-12 stimulation and inhibits STAT4-mediated gene activation in human T cells.
