背景信息	Guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit beta-2-like 1, also known as Cell proliferation-inducing gene 21 protein or Guanine nucleotide-binding protein subunit beta-like protein 12.3 or Human lung cancer oncogene 7 protein (HLC-7) or Receptor for activated C kinase or Receptor of activated protein kinase C 1 (RACK1), and encoded by the gene name GNB2L1 or PIG21, is a binding protein of heterotrimeric G protein βγ (Gβγ) subunits, is a member of the WD40 repeat protein family that binds to activated protein kinase C (PKC). It functions as an anchoring protein to stabilize PKC at the membrane in an active conformation. RACK1 has been shown to interact with a variety of proteins and may act as an adaptor/scaffold protein to orchestrate diverse cellular processes, ranging from signal transduction to cell growth. RACK1 has a well established role in integrin and growth factor signaling and can interact with β1 and β3 integrin receptors. RACK1 regulates the assembly of protrusions necessary for cell adhesion and migration in an Src-dependent manner. RACK1 is expressed in the liver with higher levels in activated hepatic stellate cells than in hepatocytes or Kupffer cells.
