背景信息 Phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase 1 gamma (PIP5K type 1 gamma; PIP5K1γ) is a ubiquitous protein which is enriched in focal adhesion plaques. It is expressed in relatively high levels in the brain, particularly at synaptic sites. PIP5K type 1 gamma is activated by talin, and in turn phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, the precursor to the second messenger phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate. It indirectly influences vesicle transport, cell adhesion, and cell migration, among other processes.
